Booking Through Thursday

What’s your book with weather events? Hurricanes? Tornadoes? Blizzards? Real? Fiction? Doesn’t matter … weather comes up a lot in books, so there’s got to be a favorite somewhere, huh?

My favorite book is Crime and Punishment, and while it does take place in Russia, it's during the summer. The opressive heat gives the book another layer, and helps to unhinge the main character, Raskolnikov.
Also, The Return of the Native by Thomas Hardy has great atmosphere created mainly by the weather.

Good picks!

Your comment about the oppressive heat reminded me of yet another book I forgot this morning: Dragons of Summer Flame by Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman. Same deal--the intense heat of the summer the characters face contributes its layer to the story (as well as completing the seasonal "cycle" of the series).

Thanks for dropping by and commenting at my blog! :-)
